OgoSport would like to give a few of the OgoBild and Animate sets away to our readers! HORRRRRAAYYY!!! CLICK HERE TO ENTER! We will have fun tapping into the imaginations of the the kids we work with to see what exciting ideas they can come up with! You can add soundtracks, backgrounds, etc. There is so much more animating that you can do with this program. The instructions for set-up were very easy to follow and the online tutorials from Animate It! made creating or first creature movie a breeze! Check out what we made: OgoSport was kind enough to send us a few OgoBild + Animate kits to use in our therapy sessions and today, we gave one a try. This is just another way to incorporate technology into our therapy sessions as a motivator for the kids to use their hands to finish putting together a project to make their own short little movie. The pieces are colorful, easy to manipulate, unique, soft and click together to make some pretty awesome characters! That being said, all children need a little extra motivation at times and what better way to motivate a child than with technology! We have already told you that we love using our favorite gross motor apps and fine motor apps during our sessions. The OgoBild sets have been a staple in our therapy practice for awhile. OgoBild is a line of creative construction toys that promote hours of endless and open-ended, fun play! This toy, coupled with Animate It! Express Software results in an all-in-one kit for any child to begin to learn the basics of movie making through animation.Īll kids love to build and create. Recently, OgoSport emailed us to let us know about a giveaway that they wanted to host for their newest creation: OgoBild + Animate. The company motto is “Active Play for All” and it is spot on! The toys are awesome for promoting all kinds of child development skills from hand eye coordination using the OgoDisks to fine motor strengthening, bilateral coordination and manipulation using OgoBild. It was really easy to export the movies from the Animate It! Express software to the desktop, and then upload them to Youtube. As pediatric occupational and physical therapists, we LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the OgoSport brand. Here are a couple of the kids’ animation videos! First one by eight-year-old Emma: This also makes them great for unplugged pretend play! The Ogobild Bits can be a little tricky to put together (you have to really push some of the pieces into place), but the benefit of this is that they stay together really well once they are built – until you decide to take them apart. I see a lot of stop motion animation storytelling in our future! The kids love creating and editing their work, and then watching it back! They are very serious about getting everything just right. This is the same computer software technology used by Aardman’s Studio – the creators of Wallace and Gromit and Chicken Run. We found the onion skin feature in the Animate It Express particularly useful do you see how it shows you where the pieces were in the previous show so that you can line them up exactly how you want them for the next shot? The Animate It Express software was super easy to install on our HP Envy laptop, and the bendy camera makes it easy to get the angle you want for your storytelling. They each put together a creature, and then set to work making movies. Eight-year-old Emma, six-year-old Johnny, and five-year-old Lily were instantly enthralled. This kit comes with a camera, a confirmation code to download a copy of the Animate It! Express software, and Ogobild Bits that you can put together to build cute little creatures that are perfect for storytelling. My kids are really enjoying working on their stop motion animation skills thanks to a great little kit we were sent by OgoSport: the OgoBild Animate It Studio Kit.
